" I never heard anyone tell me before that I wasn't my problems, that my problems are my problems and that I am me. That picture we did really helped me think about things different"
Culture Story Therapy client
Culture Story Therapy is delivered from the underlying belief that your identity and connection to culture and community provide benefits that span across your life and guide some of the fundamental principles, beliefs, assumptions and behaviours that influence your life.
Culture Story Therapy is a guided framework which uses a set of practical tools to assist people and mentors in the community who want to help people in their community, in school or in workplaces. Culture Story Therapy is an empowerment tool to help you find the words and tuition to help yourself or a person in need.
Our aim in Culture Story Therapy is to close the gap and make connection between a local person in need of assistance, people in the community who want to help, and available professionals.
Culture Story Therapy is a social and emotional first-aid initiative delivered by local people to provide immediate and short-term assistance until appropriately qualified support can be arranged.
The Baragana - Circles of Support
Baragana Circle of Support is a facilitated process that supports individuals and groups to reduce anxiety and stress.
Baragana Circle of Support is delivered by a trained and mentored community base of individuals and combines Culture Story Therapy learning to provide a holistic approach to recognising, identifying and addressing many complex social and emotional issues.
Baragana Circles of Support have already improved the lives of many people. A circle of support is a group of people who come together regularly with a common purpose, who think and talk about, then agree and support actions that will further that purpose.
Baragana commenced in application as a prison to community transition initiative, and has been equally successful when adapted to address a broad range of community issues.
